Travel Details

The wedding is in Cherry Valley, CA—a little town at the base of the mountains between Los Angeles and Palm Springs. It is a fairly remote area—so we'd recommend staying in some of the nearby cities. There may be mountain cabins available in Cherry Valley or Oak Glen. However, we'd recommend staying in one of two areas: Redlands or Palm Springs.

If you want to stay somewhere super convenient— the Redlands area will be your best bet. If you want to make the wedding weekend a mini vacation or getaway, then Palm Springs can be a lot of fun. Either way, both areas will work out just fine!

There will be optional excursions in the days following the wedding. We're looking forward to sharing our love for the region with anyone who can join. More details to come in the spring about these activities.

Airports

There are two airports in the region: Ontario International and Palm Springs International Airports. Both are about 45 minutes away from the venue. Please note that if you choose to fly into a larger airport in Los Angeles or San Diego, it will take at least two hours to get to the venue.

Ground Transportation

Public transportation isn't available, so renting a car or coordinating with other guests will be your best bet.

The Redlands Area

Redlands is a small city about 15 minutes away from the venue. Other cities in this area include Yucaipa, Calimesa, and Loma Linda. We have had tons of great hiking excursions in the Yucaipa area—so if you find yourself here and want to know our favorite spots, send us a note! In these cities you will be able to find moderate rentals on Airbnb or VRBO. Reasonable rates could also be found at any of the following hotels:

The Palm Springs Area

Palm Springs is a fun desert destination city.  Palm Springs has an average of 354 days of sunshine a year and offers lots of hiking, golf, and shopping.  Palm Springs and the wider Coachella Valley features a number of museums, theaters, a zoo, and lots of casinos. It’s a bit further away—40 minutes from the venue, but it has LOTS and LOTS of options for hotels and rentals through Airbnb and VRBO. There are super adorable boutique hotels, luxury hotels, moderate Airbnb houses and even some large luxury homes for rental. There’s a million little restaurants and lots of spas in Palm Springs.

June will be the down season, so rates will be extremely reasonable. Palm Springs is in the Coachella Valley which is a desert valley—and June could be very, very hot with the average high being about 104 or 105. This is dry heat— so it feels like an 85 or 90 humid day. For some East Coasters, this may not be a big deal. For others, there is a chance you could feel like you are melting. We would argue it's pretty do-able, especially in the shade, the morning, or evening. But if you are sensitive to the heat, you may want to stay in the Redlands area.  Keep in mind—if you are worried about heat—that every place is air-conditioned and every hotel has a pool, complete with palm trees and a real resort feel—just like a beach hotel (minus the beach).
